Welcome Marquise de Cat—A Root Wizard Kitten!

Hey everyone! We have some more exciting news!

Marquise de Cat, the Root Board Game Kitty, Joins Wizard Kittens!

Thank you to Patrick Leder and the Leder Games team for loaning us another new kitten! The Marquise de Cat of Root fame is now a Wizard Kitten. All Kickstarter backers will get a Kickstarter Exclusive character mat featuring The Marquise!

Haven’t heard of Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right, the awesome asymmetric board game by Leder Games, designed by Cole Wehrle and illustrated by Kyle Ferrin? Well, you’re just in time to catch their amazing second Kickstarter, Root: The Underworld Expansion. The Corvid Conspiracy and The Great Underground Duchy (Moles!) both join the other factions in Root, alongside a bunch of new maps and other cool additions to the core game. 

Magpie Games is also proud to partner with Leder Games to create the Root tabletop RPG later this year (so stay tuned for more info)! Since we’re already working together on the RPG, Patrick and the Leder Games team have agreed to let us bring Root’s iconic Marquise de Cat to Wizard Kittens as well! 

The Marquise de Cat is a regal kitty with an interest in expansion. CLINK! Marquise de Cat is great at delegating which ritual components go where. 

Everyone who backs for at least $20 will get a Marquise character cat mat, right alongside Cinder and Orion’s character cat mats and everything else you get in the Kicstarter Exclusive pack! No stretch goals, no achievements, she’s yours! Thank you all for your amazing support and help to make Wizard Kittens an amazing product.

We’re still working on unlocking some amazing new upgrades! To do that, we’ve added a few more social stretch goals you all can finish before the end of the campaign. Here’s a few that are in reach:

• Shares on our Twitter and Facebook posts! We need about 90 more—that should be easy for the 2000+ of you! :)
• 1000 Facebook likes on our Facebook post! We only need 255 more and all it takes is a click!
• 200 hearts on the Wizard Kittens Board Game Geek page! We are just 20 away! 
• 1 song about Wizard Kittens—recorded, complete with music and lyrics! We’d love to hear your ballad on the majesty of these magical felines! (Rumor has it that someone posted a bunch of lyrics to our Facebook post, just waiting to be set to music!)

Extra Credit Reward Unlocked! Onto Upgrades!

Here we are, about 5 days from the end, and you’ve unlocked ALL the rewards we started with!

Reward unlocked! 

As is right and good, we consulted the great Oracle Ophelia to confirm the final reward you unlocked. Since you completed the funding achievement and raised over $100,000 dollars, it’s time to check that one off and reveal your next reward! (Which is already kind of revealed because it’s the last one left but THIS IS IMPORTANT)

Ophelia has chosen—as we knew she would—a new kitten character mat! That means that everyone will get a whole new wizard kitten to play with in the new Kickstarter Exclusive. Alongside Orion, Cinder, and the kitten in the Magical Monster expansion, the new kitty brings the total count up to NINE kittens to choose from, each with their own basic and advanced side! Woohoo!

Congratulations, Kitten Gang! That means all of the rewards have been unlocked! 

New Extra Credit Upgrades! 

Now that you have unlocked all of the amazing Kickstarter Exclusive content we are ready to unlock some amazing upgrades to the core game! These upgrades will show up in every box, including the Standard and Magical Editions of the game. Just like before, when you accomplish an achievement you unlock a new upgrade! 

First up is…. 

Unique art for advanced v. basic character cat mats! 

To reflect the kittens' magical mastery between their standard and advanced sides, this upgrade will get different art for each side of their mats! When unlocked this will upgrade all of the kittens you can play as in the game to have two sides of unique art. Kickstarter Exclusive kittens, core kittens, and even the kitten from the Magical Monster Expansion will feature a new pose on each side! 

Upcoming Social Stretch Goals

To unlock these amazing new upgrades we’ve added a few more social stretch goals you all can finish before the end of the campaign. Here’s a few that are in reach:

• Shares on our Twitter and Facebook posts! We need about 210 more—that should be easy for the 2000+ of you! :)
• 1000 Facebook likes on our Facebook post! We only need 343 more and all it takes is a click!

Add-Ons Available!

More and more kittens for everyone! Why settle for only one plush when you can have MORE?!

Add-Ons are now available! 

We have had a lot of requests to take home extra copies of the game and extra plushies for siblings. So, to make growing your Wizard Kittens collection as easy as possible we have added add-ons!

The following add-ons are available for purchase for backers who have pledged $20+. Add the necessary amount to your pledge, and you'll be able to select your add-ons in our pledge manager after the campaign. 

Want more than your pledge comes with? Then just add on some more goodies! 

•  $15—Additional Magical Monsters Expansion 
•  $20—Additional Standard Edition of Wizard Kittens. This adds the Charmed Pledge and all of its rewards!
•  $30—Additional Cinder Plush 
•  $35—Additional Magical Edition of Wizard Kittens & Magical Monsters Expansion. This adds the Enchanted Pledge and all of its rewards!

You can add on as many of these as you want to your pledge. Just add up the amount, add the total cost to your pledge, and fill out your Backerkit survey after the conclusion of the campaign!

That Other Unlocked Reward From Yesterday!

You unlocked a second reward yesterday, and we promised that we would lay out the offerings for Ophelia to ensure you received it!

New Reward!

Lo, did we set the paper stars down upon the ground, and put the appropriate snacks upon them, and release the grand oracular kitty Ophelia upon them to determine your next reward!

And there we have it—another new monster card added to the Kickstarter Exclusive Pack! Perhaps a cute chimera, or a baby basilisk, or a demon doggo!

The Kickstarter Exclusive Pack now includes 2 new Chaos Cat rules, 2 new curses, 4 new monsters, and 1 new kitten character mat—with 1 more new kitten character mat to go!

Upcoming Goals

That’s right, everyone—we have only one single reward left to go! You have done an amazing job of unlocking the awesomeness, and we’re so close to having a full Kickstarter Exclusive Pack!

Here are a few goals you can tackle:

• 1000 Facebook likes on our Facebook post! We’re over halfway there, and all it takes is a click!

And what’s more, we’re also approaching our $100,000 achievement—only about $20,000 away now—which will unlock that last wizard kitten character mat, too!

Upcoming Upgrades

So...what comes next, though? We have enough goals and achievements to unlock more rewards past those listed...so what else will be added to the game? What else will we do to appease the great and mighty Ophi?

Another Reward Unlocked! (And One to Follow!)

Woohoo! Alright! You guys took us by surprise and unlocked TWO MORE REWARDS!

New Rewards! Plural! Again!

Our visit to the great prophetess, Ophelia the Wunder Kitty, led us to find out the next reward chosen by her THIRD NOSE (it’s like a third eye, but...you get it). Lo, did she descend in the hands of her human familiar to touch the floor and choose another reward! After, kind of, maybe thinking about doing something totally different for a bit.

There it is! Ophelia has chosen a new kitten character mat! That means that in the new Kickstarter Exclusive Card Pack, everyone will get a whole new wizard kitten to play with—alongside Orion, Cinder, and the kitten in the Magical Monster expansion, that brings the total count up to 8 kittens, each with their own basic and advanced side! Woohoo!

But you amazing, wonderful people—you did even more than we expected. You actually unlocked ANOTHER reward with all your wonderful pupper pics—our 15th (!!!) social stretch goal achieved! 

So we owe you a whole other reward, but alas, we only set up the oracle once this morning for a video. We underestimated you and how amazing you are! 

Not to fret, though—this just means that no matter what happens, we’ll reveal the OTHER reward you unlocked tomorrow. So stay tuned! :D

And what’s more, because you all have blown us away, we’re already talking about and planning on revealing some new goals—along with some cool new reward possibilities. We’ll talk more about those when we have them settled.
